ABOUT ME
Taylor Bussey is an alto/mezzo/soprano originally from Charleston, South Carolina. She has been participating in theatrical arts since she was in kindergarten at Windsor Hill Arts Infused Elementary School. She then went on to audition and attend Rollings Middle School of the Arts for theatrical performance. In high school, she took the theatre arts course and participated in shows throughout her years there.
In high school she sang “Soul of a Man” in the devised musical This is Me as a soloist. Other musical works include Shrek the Musical (Pig #2/Pinocchio US/Ensemble) and Chicago Jr. (Kitty/Ensemble). She also has a history of Shakespeare experience having been in Othello (Emilia), the devised Shakespeare play Dames of Thrones (Queen Isabella), and in Comedy of Errors (The Abbess). She has also performed in the plays Peter/Wendy (Tinkerbell), and the devised show Coping (Ensemble).
Taylor has been a heavy participant in Fort Dorchester High School’s theatre program. She has been an active player in all productions throughout her high school career as well as a member of FDHS Theatre’s Leadership Team and ITS for troupe #8838. In her senior year, she was awarded President of both Leadership and ITS and worked alongside fellow students on improving the FDHS Theatre community.
Taylor is a current student at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy and is in her 3rd semester of the Integrated conservatory program. In her studying, she has taken on roles such as Elphaba in Wicked, Satine in Moulin Rouge, and Ilona Ritter in She Loves Me.
Taylor has been selected to study and perform in Germany this summer with the Orfeo Vocal Arts Academy.
